about
The first single off the forthcoming Fair Isle album, From’s “One Spring Away” takes a dream-like stroll through the wonderland of an imagined future. This is not the future of Bladerunner – it’s the tomorrow of soft skies, sparkling flowers, and a compulsion toward happiness that mocks its dark roots. Inspired by singer Roni’s 12 address changes in 2 years, the song lushly assembles flighty orchestral instruments and grounds them in an on-beat march of a piano progression.
lyrics
take a turn by the station / orange blooms on the way in / one more block, one more season / sprint ahead or just follow / found a spot off the highway / where the sky wraps your daydreams / brought a bow in case they\'re fancy / either way, that’s where i’ll be / / all you wanted / one spring away / and your wishes / one spring away / love all around / one spring away / love all around you / one spring away / / once a beach, now an ocean / next a palace by the lime grove / had a house in every port town / address books got this tale down / so this place where we’re going / makes you smile as if you\'re happy / play a game, sing an old tune / skip the rope that hung your sorrows / / i’ll be there / i’ll be there / i’ll be there / i’ll be there, right beside you / / don’t lean back, look up / don’t lean back, run with me / don’t lean back, look up / don’t lean back, run with me
